I am born and raised on the peninsula and San Mateo has some of the best foods choices. There is everything from American to Mexican to Japanese. Some of my favorites are the Ravioli Housea and Ramen Dojo. No matter how long the line its with it. I have never had a bad experience.

San Mateo is great for foodies. We have restaurants that can fulfill your every craving while you enjoy a dressed up night on the town or a casual night at your favorite hole-in-the-wall. San Mateo is the perfect mix of big city and small town and the food choices in town reflect that perfectly.

There is something for every palate in San Mateo from modest (& amazingly delicious) Chicago style hotdogs & sliders to fine dining & farm to table experiences - I fell in love with the San Mateo foodie scene over two years ago and haven't been able to recover.

San Mateo has a great collection of cafes, cheap eateries, upscale dining and everything in between in terms of price ranges and type of cuisine. Downtown San Mateo is the epicenter for this; you can go there and find virtually any type of food you might want. As someone who grew up in the area, it's been cool seeing so many new places to eat or drink crop up over the last several years.

San Mateo has a wonderful assortment of restaurants to choose from. From Italian, Indian, Chinese, American you name it, you"ll find it in San Mateo! This city offers fabulous seafood restaurants as well. Kingfish, The Fish Market, just to name a few. If you're looking for casual dining you will find many places to choose from e.g. Pancho Villa's, North Beach Pizza, Pizza My Heart, the list goes on. For more formal dining, The Melting Pot is a great place to meet people after work, as well as The Vault, 31st. Union, and Central Park Bistro. Whatever you're craving you will find it here. Most of the establishments are within easy walking distance from many neighborhoods.
